FAQ’s
During a microdermabrasion treatment, a diamond head to gently remove dead skin cells layer by layer and a vacuum action lifts away the debris, stimulating the blood flow and encouraging collagen and elastin formation.
Microdermabrasion treats a variety of skin related problems including acne and acne scarring, dull and tired skin, pigmentation, blemishes and the effects of ageing skin including wrinkles and fine lines.
In as little as 30 minutes a microdermabrasion facial will firm up, revitalise and leave you with more youthful looking skin. During a course of treatments, wrinkles and fine lines will disappear, acne and acne scarring will be significantly reduced and dull and tired skin will be restored to glowing health.
A correctly performed procedure by a fully qualified microdermabrasion therapist will result in nothing more than the skin feeling tight, occasionally with a mild redness. These effects will normally subside within 24 hours of the treatment. Sometimes microdermabrasion can trigger a healing crisis in problematic skin, such as an acne breakout in acne sufferers or pimples for those with congested skin. This is a sign that the treatment is taking effect. This temporary reaction will subside and great improvements will be seen over subsequent treatments. Higher intensities can cause an uneven lightening effect in darker skin tones. Your therapist should use a lower intensity treatment on these skin types. Those who are pregnant or who have rosacea should not have microdermabrasion treatments.
